We usually start driving as teens, later on, during our adult life we master driving, or at least, that’s what we think. One thing is for sure, we are not perfect, therefore accidents may happen at all times on the road. There are times when we are the ones to blame, some other times, somebody else is to blame, truth is, driving distracted can cause very serious situations. There are many things you can do to reduce the risks of having an accident while driving, but there are also many mistakes we commonly make without realizing it. Let’s take a look at the top 5 worst mistakes to make as a driver.

The number one mistake we make without reliazing it is a faulty mirror positioning, we know how important it is to keep an eye on the car that’s behind you, of course you’re not going to keep it on track but looking at it every now and then is a really good idea. Your side mirrors should be facing the road not your own car.

The second biggest mistake is a poor turning technique. Using a single lane when turning is vital! If you use more than one lane it could result in collision. Also, don’t slow all the way down when turning.

Keep you tailights on, this could save your life on the road. Imagine you have your headlights on but keep your taillights off, nobody will be able to see you are there, especially on dark roads, and you could get hit from behind.

Don’t leave your high beams on when you don’t need them. This is not only very annoying for every other driver but it also shows signs of poor driving etiquette, not to mention it can cause an accident by blinding oncoming traffic. If you can distinguish multiple headlights or taillights in the distance, low beams are the way to go

A faulty seat position can influence on your control reaction. Setting your seat way too far from the steering wheel will make you unable to try to avoid a collision. You don’t want to be that close, either. Keep a fair distance from it, extend your arms past the steering wheel, as long as your wrists touch it, you are in the correct position.
