Toyota has added 1.3 million more cars to the recent airbag recall they have been involved in. The Japanese airbag supplier Takata proved that the Toyota Corolla is one the highest risk vehicle for shrapnel-shooting by airbag.

Many faulty passenger airbags have been installed in more vehicles than Toyota had originally thought. Some of the models included in the recall are the 2003-2007 Corolla and Matrix, the 2005-2006 Tundra, the 2005-2007 Sequoia, and 2003-2007 Lexus SC430. At the time of the writing of this article, Toyota has officially recalled 2.9 million cars just in the U.S because of the defective airbags.

If you or somebody you know owns a vehicle in the aforementioned models but was told that didn’t need a recall it is advisable to check again since the list has been updated several times in the last few weeks. You can do this by using the NHTSA VIN lookup tool.

The driver side airbags in the 2003-2007 Toyota Corolla and Matrix together with the Pontiac Vibe and also the 2004-2007 Honda Accord recorded the highest failure rates until this day.

Please check your vehicle and avoid preventable fatalities.

Sincerely, the ShipMyRide.com team.
