Recently the German automaker presented its new app “My Volkswagen”, an exclusive software for iOS and Android mobile devices that offers a wide range of services and benefits related to your car.
And today, Volkswagen announces the addition of App-Connect, the new technology that aims to provide drivers with access to connectivity through an intuitive and easy to use system in order to prevent distracted driving in all of their 2016 models.
Through nowadays Volkswagen App-Connect users can already connect their smartphone to the infotainment system of the vehicle via the USB cable and control it through the touch screen radio, nothing compares to what iOS and Android can bring to your vehicle.
The supported platforms are: Car Play, Android Auto and MirrorLink. It will also be compatible with some of the other applications for smartphones with the iOS and Android operating system.
Here is the list of 2016 models that will have App-Connect as standard equipment:
1. Beetle – Sportline versions and Turbo
2. Jetta – Sportline versions, TDI and GLI
3. Golf – Comfortline, Highline and GTI
4. CC – Turbo and V6 versions
5. Passat – Highline and V6 versions
6. Tiguan – for all versions
